The "Park of Magona" is a
wide forestal area under the control of the Region
of Tuscany, at the moment managed by the Council of Bibbona.
It extends itself through 1600 hectares along a hilly strip particularly
charming, a few kilometres from the coast, known also as the "Etruscan
Coast", characterized by famous seaside resorts. Nowadays,
the Park of Magona has no more any productive aim, but once was
energy to feed the mills of Real Magona in Cecina.
Nowadays it is a place foe the tourists who love sports
and nature. In the inner of "Park of Magona",
you may find 16 naturalistic and excursionist
paths, shown in a map. They extend themselves up to 40 Km.
and all of then are easily to go on foot, to ride
horse or mountain-bikes.

In the "Park of Magona", many floristic
and vegetative situations (Mediterranean orchids,
mushrooms, the typical Mediterranean
flora) and a rich and colourful fauna. All this sets up an
interesting naturalistic and scientific area. In fact inside the
"Mediterranean Vegetation" there is a "Nature
Biogenetic Reserve", under the Public Land Administration
and an integral preserved area, managed by a Forestry College ('Istituto
Sperimentale per la Selvicoltura) in Arezzo. Moreover, C.N.R. (the
National Council of Research) has classified "Park of Magona"
as a "biotype", testifying again its environmental worth.
